Southside Economic Development Grant Program

Southside Economic Development grant projects are intended to build regional economic development capacity to diversify the economic base through creation or improvement of sites, buildings and utility infrastructure, workforce training facilities, tourism infrastructure etc.

Guidelines, Instructions, and Applications

Applications for FY10 Southside Economic Development grant funds were due Monday, August 24, 2009. A total of $15 million is budgeted for project proposals in the Southside region (plus any local allocatons carried forward from previous years).

The Southside Economic Development Committee will meet October 13, 2009 to review grant proposals submitted prior to the August, 24th deadline. The Committee's recommendations will be presented to the full Commission for final action at its October 29, 2009.

Pre-Application

We encourage all potential applicants to review the Commission's Strategic Plan for guidance on our targeted strategic priorities, and to use our pre-application as a tool for feedback from Commission staff prior to submitting a full application.
